DESCRIPTION:To book for or join this event please use this link: https://mms.org.uk/events/1198/health_inequalities/webinar?dr=1249\n\nALL grades of clinicians, allied health professionals, advanced practitioners, staff grades and medical students are WELCOME to attend this engaging event.\n\nThis afternoon webinar will include the following talks:\n\n2.00 pm\nDr James Webbe, Clinical Lecturer in Neonatal Population Health at Imperial College London\n\nDr Webbe is a paediatric trainee doctor who is currently working as an Academic Clinical Lecturer in the Section of Neonatal Medicine at Imperial College London.  His research is focused on the outcomes of neonatal care and which outcomes matter most to former patients, parents, healthcare workers and researchers.\n\nDuring his PhD he led the Core Outcomes In Neonatology (COIN) project and identified a neonatal core outcomes set. More recently he led the creation of a European Standard of Care for Newborn Health for Quality Indicators and is now on the Chair Committee for this project. He also participated in the identification of an ICHOM Standard Set for Preterm and Hospitalized Newborn Health. Having grown up in Jersey, James studied medicine at Cambridge and completed his Foundation training in South Shields before coming to London to train in Paediatrics.\n\nCOIN has identified the outcomes of neonatal care that matter most to patients, parents and clinical staff to help improve current data collection and guide future research. Future work to identify standardised outcome measures and timepoints will ensure that the journey of each sick baby informs improvements in future neonatal care. \n\n2.35 pm\n“What the scale doesn't show: Complications and Experience of Children with excess Weight”\nDr Wing Tang, Consultant Paediatrician, Manchester University NHS FT\n\nTalk synopsis:\n\nExcess weight in children is increasingly common, affecting approximately one in five children in Year 6. However, excess weight is more than just a number on a scale.
