Medicine Presenting Opportunities - CALL FOR ABSTRACTS DEADLINE 31st March 2026

The Society’s Section of Medicine is inviting abstracts for the following presentations. Foundation Doctors, Internal Medicine Trainees, ACCS Trainees, Higher Speciality Doctors in medical specialties, SAS Doctors, Clinical Fellows, Trust Grade and Locally Employed Doctors in medical specialties are all eligible to submit entries:
- QUALITY IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS (QIPs) - Applications are invited to submit an abstract (as a word document) of no more than 250 words dealing with a quality improvement project you have been directly involved with. The covering email from each applicant should detail their personal contribution made to the project.
Submissions will be judged on:
• The ambition of the quality improvement project
• Whether it uses established QI methodology
• Whether it has multi-disciplinary involvement
• Whether it demonstrates an improvement in process or outcome
- RESARCH PRESENTATIONS - Applications are invited to submit an abstract (as a Word document) of no more than 250 words dealing with research on a clinically related topic, with which the candidate has been personally involved. The covering email from each applicant should detail their personal contribution made to the research.
- CASE PRESENTATIONS - Applications are invited to submit an abstract of no more than 250 words (in Word format) summarising a case of clinical interest with which the candidate has been personally involved. The covering email from each applicant should confirm that they had some personal involvement in the care of the case they wish to present.
All finalists for each of the above three presentations will receive a certificate of commendation for their portfolio.
Those selected will be asked to present at the Manchester Medical Society Section of Medicine ONLINE afternoon Zoom webinar on Tuesday 19th May 2026, from 2.00 pm.
The judging panel will be drawn from the Council of the Section of Medicine, whose decision will be final.
