Preventing Parastomal Hernias - myth or reality?

Synopsis of lecture:

The talk will look at the recent data on the development of parastomal hernia and whether or not the condition can be prevented. We will cover the available data from randomised and non-randomised studies and look at the recent publications that have synthesised evidence, including guidelines.

  • This presentation will discuss the impact that parastomal hernia surgery has on the patient, focusing on whether or not surgical repair improves quality of life.
