It was agreed at the Society Annual General Meeting in October 2023 to introduce a new membership structure which will be based on salary bands rather than job title. This is to make the Society more inclusive, attractive and welcoming to all health professionals, not just doctors and dentists. All members with subsequently be called Fellows.
Fellow Membership
Holders of any qualification related to healthcare which are provisionally, temporarily or permanently registerable in the United Kingdom shall be eligible as candidates for Fellowship.
Do I qualify?
You must have a medical or dental qualification in the UK or abroad, which is recognised by the GMC or GDC.
Or hold any qualification related to healthcare which are provisionally, temporarily or permanently registerable in the United Kingdom.
If you are selecting a retired membership, you must be either over 65 years of age, or retired.
Student Membership
For undergraduate students studying medicine, dentistry, or a health-related undergraduate qualification in approved universities in the UK.
