Dr Umar Hussain, Senior Histopathology Trainee, Manchester University Hospitals NHS Trust
Lecture synopsis:
Biopsies of inflammatory sinonasal disease are common specimens in the spectrum of both general and head and neck pathology practice but are often challenging to interpret in the context of fragmented and superficial samples. This talk will describe common indications for biopsy in patients with inflammatory sinonasal disease and illustrate the spectrum of possible pathologies from the life threatening to the routine. Practical tips in diagnosis will be discussed alongside clinical correlation in order to maximise the diagnostic yield from these, often limited, samples.
This talk will be aimed at senior pathology and head and neck surgical trainees as well as practicing pathologists and anyone with a general interest in sinonasal pathology.
CPD Certificates will be awarded to attendees
