"CONposite - is it for everyone…"

Although a fantastic material, is it overused for veneers and are we misguiding patients?

Learning objectives :

  • Compare the advantages and limitations of composite and ceramic veneers, focusing on material properties, aesthetics, and durability.
  • Evaluate patient-specific factors influencing the choice between composite and ceramic veneers, such as budget, oral habits, and treatment goals.
  • Provide an introduction to the latest methods for modern smile design

Speaker bio:

Mike graduated from Bristol Dental School in 2009, with the highest number of academic prizes awarded to any one student.

From there he continued his training for a further 4 years in the hospital system, with a wealth of experience in surgery and complex restorative management. During this time he also did placements in the US and Canada, passing his exams to become board certified in the latter.

Mike’s main focus now is on Cosmetic dentistry, from composite bonding to complex full mouth rehabilitation. With a surgical background he is able to offer a combined surgical and restorative approach to aid function and aesthetics. His talents were recognised at the Dentistry Clinical Case Awards 2022 at which Mike Gray won the prestigious restorative category for his Full Mouth Rehabilitation Case.
