Dr James Webbe, Neonatal Consultant and the Service Director for the NICU at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital; Honorary Clinical Lecturer, Section of Neonatal Medicine at Imperial College London
Talk Synopsis:
The talk will cover a discussion of how non-clinical factors for neonates and parents can affect the care that neonatal patients receive. We will discuss how these factors can impact outcomes for patients and families, and how a neonatal inclusivity round can be implemented as a low-cost, impactful intervention to improve care during admissions.

“What the scale doesn't show: Complications and Experience of Children with excess Weight”

Talk synopsis:
Excess weight in children is increasingly common, affecting approximately one in five children in Year 6. However, excess weight is more than just a number on a scale. Behind those numbers are individual children with unique physical, emotional, and social experiences that can significantly affect their health, wellbeing, and daily lives.
Learning objectives:
- To discuss complication associated with excess weight
- Look at factors that contribute to excess weight in children, and discuss management strategies
- Highlight patient experiences to improve understanding of the challenges faced by children and their families.
