Paediatric dental trauma presents not only clinical challenges but also significant communication demands. Children experiencing dental injuries are often anxious, in pain, and developmentally limited in their ability to understand and cooperate, while caregivers may be distressed and require clear guidance.

This presentation explores practical, child- and caregiver-centred communication strategies to support effective assessment and management of dental trauma. It will cover clinical management, age-appropriate language, behavioural approaches, and techniques for building trust, alongside methods for engaging and reassuring caregivers during acute situations.
