This talk will explore the impact of making a significant clinical error that results in patient harm. It will focus on the clinician’s journey and outcomes. It will explore how we can better prepare ourselves for error, how we can support each other when errors occur and how we can build cultures that deal with error in a constructive way.

Trauma informed psychological support services and an overview of POPPY and INDIGO research into trauma in obstetricians, gynecologists and midwives
Talk synopis and learning objectives:
Participants will receive an overview of the current literature about prevention and management of work related post-traumatic stress symptoms in obstetrics and gynaecology, and proposed solutions to address these issues. Participants will learn about the psychological support programme offered at Liverpool Women’s Hospital and consider how it could be applied in their institution.
