A historical tour of abdominal pathology: Tying up quirks of the abdomen using modern imaging and historical yarns.

We will meander through the centuries, meeting an assortment of well-known figures and dissecting their accomplishments and deaths though the lens of modern-day imaging. The characters we will encounter on our journey through time will help us to understand the intra-abdominal pathologies we see today which are often underappreciated or overlooked and the oddities which are misinterpreted or ignored.

Learning objectives:

To demonstrate imaging appearances of select underappreciated acute abdominal pathologies

To clarify the causes and implications of unusual, commonly encountered yet underappreciated abdominal abnormalities

To show how normal anatomy influences the course of disease

7.40 pm
Buffet supper
